Wool
Silo / Wool reading order: start with Wool. Then Shift. Then Dust. Shift is a prequel published second. The Apple TV+ series is not book one.
Wool is book one. Silo is the series name.
The Apple TV+ series is called Silo. The books were called Wool first. Same underground argument. If your paperback says Wool Omnibus, you are holding book one in the form Howey later collected.
Howey’s own series page lists Wool, then Shift, then Dust. Chronological charts that open with Shift are a reread toy. Shift is written for people who already have Wool’s questions.
The original parts are not sequels
Wool began as a short and grew into five linked parts. Together they are the novel. If you own the omnibus, do not also buy the five parts thinking they are later books. Shift likewise collected three parts; the collected novel is the intended second book.
Optional Silo shorts exist. They are texture after the trilogy, not a fourth novel. Sand and Howey’s other shelves are not Silo 4.

The three-novel table, the original parts, and the labeled shorts live on the Silo / Wool reading-order guide. This page is only the door. If the show sent you and you want another dystopia with prequels that should stay prequels, that map is Hunger Games. If you want another “do not start with the prequel” SF door, Foundation: publication or chronological?.
