Start with Persephone’s first novel. A Game of Fate is the dual-POV companion to that book, not a new door. St. Clair’s tandem PDF is framed for a second pass.
Why Fate is not book one
A Touch of Darkness (2019) is the series door. A Game of Fate (2020) retells that stretch from Hades’s shoulder. The author’s current numbering lists Fate as book 2 in one Hades x Persephone column. Starting there hands you interior the first novel is built to discover.
You can read all the Touch novels first and add the Game books later. You will repeat events. You will not be lost. You should not reverse A Game of Gods and A Touch of Chaos; St. Clair flags that pair.
What tandem actually is
The author site hosts a chapter-by-chapter tandem guide for the first six books, aimed at hardcore readers and recommended on a second reading. That is the right use. It is not required apparatus for a first visit, and it is not a reason to open Fate before Touch.
A Christmas of Chaos is an optional novella after the seven. King of Battle and Blood is a different St. Clair shelf.
