What to read after ACOTAR
After ACOTAR: Throne of Glass if you want the other Maas epic, Crescent City after the spoiler warning, or Empyrean if you want another unfinished romantasy door.
Short answer
Throne of Glass, then Crescent City — or leave Maas.
If you want more Maas, TOG is the other finished-enough epic and does not spoil ACOTAR. Crescent City later books do. Empyrean is the usual off-shelf door.
Stay on the Maas desk
Throne of Glass if you want the other long Maas fantasy before anyone mentions crossovers. Start with the novel Throne of Glass, not the prequel collection.
Crescent City after ACOTAR (and TOG, if you want the other half of the crossover). Book one can stand alone. Book two onward names other worlds. Do not use House of Earth and Blood as ACOTAR 6.
Announced later ACOTAR volumes go on the end of the ACOTAR guide. They are sequels, not a new on-ramp, and not a reason to skip TOG.
Leave Maas, keep the temperature
Empyrean (Fourth Wing) if you want another unfinished romantasy with a strict first book. From Blood and Ash if you want a long romantasy that hides a prequel series as book one. Folk of the Air if you want faerie politics in a finished trilogy plus a later duology.

What not to do
Do not start A Court of Silver Flames as a “next series.” It is Nesta’s novel inside ACOTAR. Do not start a 20-title “Maas chronological order.” Those charts go stale.
