Triptych — and Grant County before Undone
Triptych (2006) is Will Trent book one. You can open it cold. Before you reach Undone (UK: Genesis), read the Grant County novels. That third Will Trent book is the crossover. It spends a Grant County ending the earlier six were built to earn.

Two Slaughter streets. Grant County is Sara Linton, Jeffrey Tolliver, and Lena Adams in Heartsdale. Will Trent is a GBI agent in Atlanta. They are not alternate book ones of the same series. They share a character after Grant County is already over.
The ABC/Hulu show is a cousin. Season order is not book order. The show is not a reason to skip Grant County if you want Sara’s first life intact.
